Third-party software interfering with Imatest Installation
Imatest software functions when installed on a clean version of an operating system free from 3rd party software that could interfere with Imatest’s software installation or operation. Third-party software can include:
Remote management software
Remote monitoring software
Virus protection
Interference from third-party software could take several forms:
Blocking files from being installed
Blocking files from being run (E.g.: Java-based applications)
Corrupting system files
Altering the system's hard drive serial number or network card ID, which can break licensing.
Disabling 3rd party software and attempting to re-install or re-run Imatest software is a way to overcome these issues.
Identifying 3rd party software
To understand what 3rd party software is installed on a machine, you can utilize the Belarc Advisor which will generate a comprehensive report of what is on the system. Inspecting this report and finding any software to be addressed can be helpful.
If you can identify 3rd party software, disable it. If the problem still occurs, you can move on to:
Clean installation
Starting with a clean install of an operating system free from third-party interfering software is a more extreme method of overcoming these issues.
