MacOS: Imatest can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.
Upon opening an Imatest installer package a dialog such as the following will be shown:
Affects:
Full installers for all versions of Imatest
All versions of MacOS
Workaround 1: Install MCR & Imatest upgrade installer separately
Locate the MCR version (“R202Xa/b”) from the Matlab Compiler Runtime (MCR) versions list that is associated for the version of Imatest you want to install.
Download and install the appropriate MCR for Mac Intel 64-bit.
Download and Install the Upgrade Installer for the version of Imatest you want to install.
Workaround 2: Override warning
Navigate to “System Preferences” > “Security & Privacy”.
Under the “General” tab, click Open Anyway for Imatest Master.
Select Open.
Proceed with the installation from here
Causes
Apple changed their scanning for notarization last year to include binary files within archive files, so it impacts all macOS versions. Before, we could get away with code-signing the binaries in the Runtime installer ourselves, but we cannot code-sign anything in the Runtime's archives files because it breaks the Runtime installer (also, the version of the JRE that Mathworks ships cannot be notarized because it was built against an old macOS SDK).
We’ve reported this issue to Mathworks, but a fix is not currently anticipated in the short term.
