Camera DR vs. Chart DR
When chart DR > camera DR: for the analysis of two different charts, using the correct reference files for each should provide the same result. This is a measurement of the camera DR.
When chart DR < camera DR: here, you are effectively “maxing out” the charts and the results can be slightly different due to the exact DR of each chart being slightly different. This is a measurement of the chart DR.
We expect that semi-gloss charts will have a maximum DR that is slightly higher than their corresponding matte charts.
